The curriculum at Frankie Lemmon School and Developmental Center is individualized for each child, based on current skills, parent input, and diagnostic and evaluation results. All areas of child development are included, addressing skills to be taught in appropriate developmental sequences.

The curriculum places special emphasis on communication skills and personal independence. All faculty members use sign language and/or other augmentative communication systems as needed in conjunction with verbal language to guide the development of each child’s language abilities.

Children who have special education needs may have developmental delays, language impairments, learning disabilities, sensory integration deficits, mental retardation, mild autism, or mild physical impairments.

Children whose education plan requires specialized therapy receive therapy during the school day at no cost to the family. Therapies provided may be speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, hearing therapy, or vision therapy.
